Travel Wish: Montreal
I would really love to do some travelling, but with work (and BF’s work) in the way, it’s been really difficult to get out of the country. After a somewhat lengthy conversation with the BF about places we’d love to see (and whether travelling is a priority in our lives – which is it’s own blog, I’m sure), I have started budgeting out a wicked plan to keep money in the vacation fund.
The first place I’d like to visit is closer to home (yet, neither the BF or I have ever been there), and it is Montreal, Quebec.
I really want to see Old Montreal – typically, cobblestone streets, little shops and boutiques really appeal to me. I am not really a fan of Vancouver, but Gastown (where I always end up staying because our office is nearby) is great for cobblestone streets and shops. If it weren’t for all the crackheads hanging about, I probably would’ve loved to take evening walks there.
I love admiring architecture, so the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal is another attraction I will probably check out. I’m sure I’ll be creeped out by it, too (I get easily creeped out by old things and especially old churches).
Of course, the big reason why I would love to see Montreal is the fashion! It’s claimed to be one (if not the) leading Canadian fashion city and I would love to take a small piece of that home with me (I opt for items made by locals – in Calgary, I bought a handmade leather handbag designed by a local artist).
Soon enough, my pretty wallet! Soon, you too will be foraying around Montreal like the beauty you are :)
